Former aide to Nigeria’s ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has said the north will reject deposed emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi if he contests for President.
Omokri said this in a recent tweet, saying that those who are saying Sanusi was deposed inorder to pave way for presidency are being naive.
Reacting to El-Rufai’s recent gesture towards Sanusi, the ex-aide said El-Rufai was trying to use Sanusi to push for presidency.
Recall that Governor Nasir El-Rufai appointed Sanusi as Vice chairman of KADPA and also the Chancellor of Kaduna State University barely 24hrs after his (Sanusi’s), removal as emir of Kano.
Omokri tweeted, “Those claiming Sanusi was deposed to pave way for him to run are naive. Even the North will reject him.
“The real strategy is that @elrufai rushed to his defence in order to cash in on Southern sympathy for Sanusi and use it to power his own Presidential ambition.”
