Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has officially joined the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
The Governor disclosed this via his official twitter handle on Friday.
Obaseki said, “I have officially joined the Official Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nigeria to advance my ambition to seek re-election as Governor of Edo State.
“I, as always, remain committed to engendering good governance and sustainable development of our dear state,”
Sources gathered that 14 house members, 18 local government chairmen and 196 councillors have joined Obaseki in defecting to the Opposition party.
Recall that the APC screening committee led by Jonathan Ayuba had disqualified Obaseki from the APC governorship primaries.
